What is a whois lookup?
Whois is a public lookup service that shows the registration details of a domain name. The registrar, registration and expiry dates, status codes and name servers are all part of the whois record.
Why can’t I see the domain owner’s details?
Because of data protection regulations such as GDPR and KVKK, registries usually hide personal details. Owner details of .com.tr domains can also be hidden on request.
Where does .com.tr whois data come from?
Records of .tr domains are kept in TRABIS, operated by the Turkish ICT Authority (BTK). Your lookups are answered directly by the TRABIS whois server.
What happens when a domain expires?
An expired domain is first suspended, then enters a redemption period and is finally deleted and released for registration. Renew your domain before it expires so you don’t lose it.
